Sandor Vegh received his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland in 2003. His dissertation focused on Internet policies and politics, especially on the democratizing potentials of the Internet, as well as online political activism and its media representations. He holds an M.A. in English (American Studies), a B.S. in Mathematics, and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Debrecen, Hungary. He studied in the United States on a Fulbright scholarship (1997-2002), and currently works in the World Bank in the area of Human Resources Analytics and Strategic Staffing.
He has been active in the Hungarian cultural scene in the Washington area since his arrival to the U.S. in 1997. He was co-founder of the Kossuth House Social Club that year, and the HungarianAmerica Foundation in 2003, of which he is currently the president.
